First batch of post-7drl updates
Eradication Bastion » Devlog
Over the last couple days I've released 2 post-jam update versions. In this post I'll provide a short overview of the changes from the 7drl submission version.
Changes:
- Added sounds and music.
- The game should now run reasonably on Linux using Mono. This is still a bit of a work-in-progress since Linux isn't my main squeeze and I actually don't even have a Linux VM around nowadays :(
- Adds a particle effect and numerical display for when momentum goes past the "top-speed" (end of the momentum bar)
- Grappling with no valid target now shows a visual grapple effect instead of doing nothing
- Grappling anything other than walls now keeps moving you forward like other actions.
- Halves the time between bell tolls. The time between bell tolls after picking the Doom card remains the same.
- Restores the 3d-like chasm rendering effect I showcased on the roguelike dev discord before.
Fixes:
- Greatly increases performance of draw and update calls which should make the game run a lot smoother now.
- Greatly increases performance of pathfinding calls.
- Fixes Night Terror not properly gibbing anything at all thanks to Nemesis' gibbing immunity.
- Fixes the Rats Hunted statistic never incrementing.
- Fixes some stabbing mechanics to make it a little more reliable.
- Fixes grapple-ripping an enemy's heart sometimes crashing the game if its body decays before the animation finishes.
- Fixes the content folder naming to be consistent with incode usage, since files are case-sensitive on linux.
- Fixes AoE visuals not cleaning themselves up in certain situations.
- Fixes Nemesis not parrying stab attacks.
- Fixes Nemesis not dodging stab attacks mid-flight.
- Fixes some assorted oddities with grappling.
